2011 Franciscan Estate Stylus Cabernet Sauvingon Napa Valley
Appearance: Deep Garnet
Aromas: Dark cherry, cardamom spice, clove, dark chocolate, and ripe plum drift out of the glass and intermingle with hints of anise, thyme and a touch of peppercorn. The oak provides hints of caramel, cedar, and tobacco.
Flavors: A rich and full wine with generous body and a smooth, seamless progression from start to finish. Notes of ripe cherry, mocha, vanilla, and cassis lead to a lingering long, supple finish. Hints of clove, cocoa, and blackberry linger on the finish.
Cabernet Sauvignon is one of the most interesting and complex grape varieties. Franciscan Winemaker, Janet Myers, loves its body and texture, and its ability to express power and intensity with finesse. Stylus is a joy to make because of the extraordinary fruit that comes from Franciscan vineyards; her role is to shepherd the wine through to the bottle, bringing out its potential and allowing the fruit to express itself fully.
